A White Christmas!

It hardly ever happens here in Ory-gun. In fact, the last time was 17 years ago. But yesterday, on Dec. 25, we had about four hours of a white Christmas! Big fluffy flakes began falling around noon and did so for a couple of hours. It wasn't much, but it was glorious, and Erin and I bundled up and joined the neighbors and kids and dogs that spilled out into the cul-de-sac. What a wonderful gift it was!

Oh! The snow, the beautiful snow,
Filling the sky and the earth below,
Over the housetops, over the street,
Over the heads of people you meet.
Dancing,
Flirting,
Skimming along,
Beautiful snow! It can do no wrong;

Flying to kiss a fair lady's cheek,
Clinging to lips in frolicksome freak;
Beautiful snow from heaven above,
Pure as an angel, gentle as love!

Oh, the snow, the beautiful snow,
How the flakes gather and laugh as they go
Whirling about in maddening fun:
Chasing,
Laughing,
Hurrying by.

It lights on the face and it sparkles the eye;

And the dogs with a bark and a bound
Snap at the crystals as they eddy around;
The town is alive, and its heart is aglow,
To welcome the coming of beautiful snow.

Sue, just happened upon your blogspot by accident again! Almost forget about it! It was great fun to hear the news in your family and see photos! Bought your book Gargoyles, havn't received it yet. Looking forward to it. You can be really proud of yourself. Thats a big accomplishment. Sounds like your life is always busy and quite full! Had an opportunity to have coffee at Border's with Margaret Sweeney. She was making a move from Washington to Calif. I really enjoyed seeing her! Also, heard from David Dale about a week ago, that was enjoyable also. He's been married 4 times and didn't sound to happy about it. It's the wives he said! Always wanting his money! Pretty funny! Glad to hear from him. Also, heard from Cam Newton, who has produced two CD's that I know of. His music is really good and very enjoyable. Our life is very busy, filled with a lot of travel. I've been envolved with photography for almost seven years now and enjoy it immensely. I've written one children's book and am just starting illustrations, I have at least four or five more in mind if the first one goes well. Its a big undertaking I know. Excited about it! I'll try and check your blog more often to keep up on news and whats going on in your family. Looks like a happy group! Tell Barney Hi! Hope this year is good to you with no health problems! Still would love to get together and have coffee or something sometime. Take care! Karyl Dalbey ( dalbeykaryl@hotmail.com)
